The seasons are changing, daylight is becoming shorter and shorter, and we still have to maintain a healthy distance from the ones we love. It’s easy to feel like the world is caving in and your self-confidence is going down the drain.
However, not all hope is lost. In these times of uncertainty it’s important to not only check in with your friends and family, but also yourself. I want to begin by stating that self-worth and self-care is more than a bubble bath and a face face mask. While those things help we need to work on our inner selves. This looks different for everyone. It can be journaling your thoughts down, meditating, or visualizing what you want in your life.
How does this help with my confidence? Great question. Writing down what you think allows you to process your thoughts better, which may allow you to feel relief in stressful situations. The same is said about manifesting. When you manifest what you want the universe listens and attracts the things you most want. Look towards the future and how you want your life to be five years from now, a year from now, six months from now, and even three months from now. Keep that list some place close so you can see it everyday and make the moves towards these goals.
Affirmations and manifesting are very similar, but affirmations can grow your self-confidence far beyond any other method. What are affirmations? Affirmations are daily sayings you, your biggest critic, say each morning before leaving the house. The most important note is to say them to yourself while looking in a mirror. It will feel weird looking directly at yourself but that's the point. You are your own biggest critic and if you don't believe the words that are coming out of your own mouth, who else will? Write down 20, right now. It may take some time, but think of 20 affirmations you could say about yourself. A few examples are, “I am loved,” ‘I am worthy,” “I am beautiful,” and “I am intelligent.” These are some of our favorites, don’t be afraid to get even more personal in your affirmations to help yourself fully grow.
I mentioned this earlier but journaling can be a therapeutic form of creativity and stress relief. When you write down your day-to-day life it serves as a memory saver to look back on during the particular time. It can be deeper than a memory keep. There are tons of resources online for journal prompts that allow you to really connect with your inner self. Some of my favorites are “Are you like your family?”, “What qualities do you look for in a friend?”, “What do you call love?”. This list goes on and you are able to get into as much detail as possible. Bezara Cosmetics encourages to journal at least once a day! This will help create healthy habits and track your goals and day-to-day lives easier. Writing has proven to decrease memory loss and helps relieve stress for those who actively write.
The biggest take away is that you are your own creator. You are your biggest supporter and critic. No one has the power to dictate your life other than yourself. But remember, don’t be too hard on yourself because we all make mistakes. It’s equally important to remember now and cherish what we have. Self-love will always come from within so don’t let anyone else tell you your worth.
